Educated Guess

How many people take education for granted? A lot.

May I present another piece from the dA 'Suggestivism' collection, Maleducados by s-caruso

There is just so much going on in this image! So many little details that you can spot. The guy with his head intact? The guy with his whole head off? Go through the image carefully, and take it in.

(I go back over it after writing this, and still find so many funnies! XD)

Aaah...!

And remember kids, stay in school, yea? ;D

Suggestivism

Let us begin with an interesting quote from Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

"One thing I have learned well in my travels. The riches of one region are taken for granted in another. Fish we would not feed to a cat in Buckkeep is pirzed a a delicacy in the inland cities. In some places, water is wealth, in others the constant flooding of the river is both an annoyance and a peril. Fine leather, graceful poetry, glass as transparent as air, exotic flowers...all of these I have seen in such plentiful supply, that the folk who possess them no longer see them as wealth.
So perhaps, in sufficient quantity, magic becomes ordinary. Instead of a thing of wonder and awe, it becomes the stuff of roadbedds and signposts, used with a profligacy that astrounds those who have it not."

I'm sure any commerce/economics person would laugh at me, as it is probably second nature to them XD

I digress

I need to be more vigilant in my blogging D:

I found this piece absolutely fascinating. May I present, Potrait of Crime by s-caruso

It just has so much meaning, so much room for interpretation. A big on his head? A gun barell poking out of his head? Suitcases entering the piggy-bank slot? Nice teeth buddy! Dressed for occasion?

I love it!

Meteor Mash

The train driver said something amusing yesterday

"...and enjoy your trip on the river of steel!"

What a lovely metaphor XD Riding on the river of steel inside the steel boat

I have been slack again, yes, I know. Never fear!

Let me introduce a master painter, Leonid Afremov, and one of his wonderful pieces, Blue Light

The colour range and style of painting is just breath-takingly amazing! Look at how detailed the reflections on the road are. The sky is mystical, almost like a blue tree, perfectly poised. I like how the piece vanishes at one point, a mixture of everything.

Going to parade some more of his artworks, they are magnificent.

Here is Brussels - Castle Saventem

And here is Inner Warmth

This artist is amazing. Definitely check him out. And his website. And throw your money at him!

Powerslide

Some old guy gets on the train, and asks some seated guy for directions. What do you know, after a few words, they are suddenly the best of friends, speaking in Chilean, old man and young man.

I also saw a person I hadn't seen in 5 years! XD

Anyways, let us not dally.

Here is Halloween Mansion by jerry8448

The colour scheme of this image is brilliant. The light orange'ish hue of the atmosphere goes well with the grinning pumpkins (munchkins anyone?) The eerie red light in the uppermost part of the mansion is fantastic; added to that the smoke, who knows what kind of witchcraft is going on in there. The sky is wonderfully detailed, though, I can't tell if those are stars or birds in the sky. The tree stands there, without leaves, a sign of foreboding.

I'm guessing that this person may inhabit the mansion

Haunted Mansion Bride Replica by yensidtlaw1969 will be haunting my dreams for a while...those eyes and hands D:

Extreme Conditioning

One day, plastic notes and coins will no longer exist. Everything will be done by the card, or other new means of banking.

"Hey Mum, just came back from work"
"Pro. Give me a wad of cash so I can buy some medicine"
"Cash?"
"Oh yea...money is bits and bytes of data these days..."

Anywho...

Now this is a place where I'd love to live; Waterfall Temple by Syntetyc. The scenery is beautiful, waterfall spectacular. Such greenery is bound to be populated by exotic species, those rock formations gems in the land rather than eyesores. The temple itself is pretty magnificent; getting home from work each day would be good exercise. ^_^

I need to get back to my sit-ups D:

Please enter title here

Have you ever watched clouds move through the sky? So gentle and peaceful - one day, I'll have to gather around my friends, lay down in a field and watch the clouds ^_^ Maybe watch the stars too, the beautiful earrings that the sky wears when the cheeky Sun isn't watching XD

I never knew it was possible to see parts of the Milky Way from Earth, guess I'm a pure city-person. But if you Google it up, you can find plenty of pretty Milky Way pictures from Hawaii, and other fortunate places

Speaking of pretty skies...

That sky in black bird by beyzayildirim77 is just perfect! The type of scenery that I'd love to see every night. The way the foreground is ominously black brings out the nebulas wonderfully; for me, the size and orientation of the bird, as well as colour, brings it out as the focal point of the image, even though it seems insignificant. Wonderful hues of red and orange, love it.

That bird is a really early bird :D

Heroes to Us

It is said the Viking warriors back in the day would occasionally go 'berserk' in battle, and attack everything with an inhuman zeal and ferocity, oblivious to all danger. The powerful to go mad with bloodlust could be very terrifying to enemies indeed.

I don't know why I mention that XD Maybe I just pulled it out of an Age of Empires II manual, maybe not XD

But everyone has a fire in them, a determination to do well at something they really care about.

Like this person

The aptly titled Fire Within Me by AP-Studio shows a woman playing what I assume is a violin with the bow on fire!
How did the bow catch on fire? Was she playing it at a pace beyond human capability? Is it on fire from her passion? Or is there a Pyro around? XD

Geez, stop pouting at me, I'm just making suggestions! ^_^

The colours in the image contrast wonderfully, the blue background against the orange flames. The flames themselves are brilliantly detailed, the reflections of them on the player magnificent.

Yes. :D

Through the Sky

And here is Downtown by logartis

Seems very oriental to me. The pond in front of the central building is brilliantly detailed, as is the pathway. The atmosphere is brilliant, sort of a cloud, rainy afternoon scene. And there's a ship floating in the sky!

Sort of reminds me of the map DM-Rising Sun from Unreal Tournament 3

In other news!

University resumes next week XD

Exile

No words are necessary

My interpretation of Nemo my name forever more by Unita-N...hmm...
Are they running away? From duty? From death? Are they being pursued? By armed folk?
What is the object being flung out? Since when did birds try to get trampled under hooves?

I love images that inspire curiosity, images that politely ask you to think

The colours in the piece are wonderful, setting a sort of sombre mood.

That is all ^_^

Timley Arrival

That feeling when the train is late. Again.
How many employers have fired people due to late trains? I certainly know of a few.

Let's hope the Final Train by  JasonHeely isn't late!

That train reminds me of Ned Kelly. the famous Australian bush-ranger who fashioned himself a brilliant mask. One with glowing eyes XD The atmosphere is lovely, really loving the red hue. If I was that train, I wouldn't want to be picking up that creepy commuter! But I must admit, the commuter, with the glowing eyes and glowering posture adds to the creepy mood. The image, of course, makes you ponder where that train is coming from...with that window to the far left

Well.

*shrugs*

For my sluggishness yesterday, lets throw in another image! May I present, Ghost Train by karola-j

The blue glow coming from the windows makes you wonder 'What in the world is going on in that train?'
The smoke is beautifully done, almost looks as if the train has come straight from the freezer, ready to knock some heads XD

Until next time!

The year...is 2027

Ever wondered what cities will look like in the future? When...the population soars...the only way is up! There are many video games out there that let you explore future worlds, with beautiful cities. Take a look at Heng Sha in the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution - whoa dude, step back! That scene is just breath-taking!

And you can explore that city! Even the sewers!

Reminds me of this, really

The Arch by MacRebisz possesses that architecture telling you 'up is the only way to go, son'. Really loving the look of that flying transport - if that city is as big as I think it as, we'd sure need it!
The colours on the buildings are phenomenal. The reds and blues really complement each other well. The yellowish atmosphere is similar to that of Heng Sha from Deus Ex, an ambient glow of beauty.

We are going to needs lots of electricity, yes...

Ahoy

Recently, I have been reading a novel by the name of Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Highly recommend it, entrancing read. In it, there is a mention of the 'Red Ship Raiders', ruthless and efficient pirates that are causing the land-folk limitless trouble.

Pirates? Arr!

Plague Ship Sails into Korvosa by yanimator provides a powerful image, wonderfully detailed, perfect atmosphere, action-packed, vibrant and energizing. The colours are striking and bold, like the majestic ship itself, regal and tall.

That is all. Before I make a complete fool of myself XD

Forests of Silence

Once, long ago, I had a dream about a serial-killer in a forest, who ate children. (I swear I'm normal!)
I don't know why I bring it up now, maybe this spectacular image invoked some emotion in me.

God of the Forest by noah-kh left me gaping for quite a while :O It is so wonderfully detailed; just look at the foilage! The shading and tones are marvellous, the water (or spider-webs?) on the right are coloured perfectly.  The overall lighting in this image is mind-blowing, its so ambient, peaceful and giggle-worthy :3
The colours on the nice-looking monster :D are nice, really digging the bits of blue in this image.

I'd very much like to visit a forest one day!

Highway Rolling

Sorry for people who aren't fond of space-related images, but they are so pretty! :3

May I present, Space Highway by Alienphysique
The scene is so mouth-watering. The colour range in the image is spectacular; I really love the reddish glow emanating from behind the planet. I can't imagine it in any other colour. The 'highway' is so detailed and cute too :3 And the stars are there in the background, ever-present but taken for granted. This image is enough to send shivers; who knows if the future will look as pretty as this?

Or will it...?

Spaced

Crazy me had a dream about the Sun going suprenova! But, of course, the Sun is too small to go supernova, you all tell me. Yes, but I'm crazy ^_^

I was wandering the streets at night, and I see a small flash. Then another, much brighter flash. And another brighter flash. I close my eyes, but the final flash is so bright, I can see it through closed eyes!

But, of course, somehow, everything is fine that next day, after I wake up (in my dream-self of course!) and the dream continues on some random tangent, as all dreams do. You could argue "Silly DisaFear, it wasn't a supernova then, it was just some satellite asploding in the atmosphere!" but in a dream, you usually know what's going on, even if you don't know why, and I somehow knew it was a supernova!

Anyways.

A supernova, if you are wondering, is the explosion a massive star, a star that is probably 8 times or more massive than the Sun. (the line is very fine between intermediate mass stars and high mass stars)

Why does it explode?

As fusion proceeds in the star, iron accumulates in the core of the star. Iron cannot provide fusion energy. So it accumulates. And accumulates. And accumulates.

And then, suddenly, the degeneracy pressure in the core can't support it! Core collapses! Boom! Explosion occurs, leaving behind a neutron star

Something like this?

Supernova by karimfakhoury is a perfect artists example of a supernova. Explosion, check. Awesome lighting and colours, check. Chaotic, check! Debris, check. Random man getting owned, check! The amount of detail in that piece is magnificent, there's so much to take in.

But...a neutron star is not always how it ends...there is a much more evil force in the Universe...

*enter stage left, black hole*

If that extremely-extremely-dense neutron star accumulates some more mass, then the neutron degeneracy pressure can't hold it! It collapses, collapses, collapses, collapses, into a thing whose gravity is so strong that not even light can escape it!

Black Heart, Black hole by shadeforfiend shows one of those evil creatures in action. I really love the colour range on that accretion disk. Hey, black holes can be cute too :3

Until next time! Don't fall into a black hole, however interesting they are!

Hectic

I haven't blogged for the past two days, my apologies (not that anyone reads this of course)
Been busy with badminton, catch-ups and lunch. I have laughed so much in the past three days, once or twice even, tears came; having wonderful friends is such a blessing :)

But at times, I feel lost too. To do it, or not? DisaFear's mind, make up your mind please!

Something like this?

Everyone's mind probably looks like The Maze by Sagim at some point in their lives. Everyone undergoes that confusion that life provides most diligently. That person in the maze? Is it the person thinking, or is it someone else? We'll never know. I think the piece could do with a bit more colour, but that's just my pitiful analysis. But it provides a good image as to what happens inside peoples heads, when people get lost. The brain is, after all, an amazing organ. Functioning 24 hours a day from the day of birth till...

Yea, let's not go there.

This has been a terrible blog entry. I promise an awesome piece tomorrow! Need to get back into that sci-fi and fantasy!

Never fear, DisaFear is here!

City Beats

I don't know what it is, but I love pictures of the city! Is it the tall buildings? The pretty lights? The elegant design? No clue. But I love the city! :D Pictures of cities like Tokyo and Seoul just set my heart racing.

A perfect example of what I was talking about, in Metro 3080 by kingjamesuk. The colour range and lighting is spectacular, the scene worthy to make any sci-fi fan drool in hunger. The buildings look so sophisticated and elegant, the detail extravagant. Totally would love to live in such a place

Let's hope it happens sometime in the near future!

The Dreamer

Ever since exams finished three weeks ago, I have been dreaming nearly every night. Don't know why. I woke up laughing today, so funny it was XD They need to make a machine to record dreams with, so I can get rich selling brilliant movie ideas :3

Even planets dream in their spare time.

The colours and tones used in Celestial Dreams by gucken are wonderful; a bit of red, bit of blue, green, purple, wonderful!

And that is all! Off to bed to dream once more

The War-room

Many important decisions are made on the battlefield. Others are made in conference rooms. And some others are made in solitude by an individual, whether it is a letter to a beloved or an investment in stocks or the decision to deal justice.

Decisions are also made in alley-ways, did you know that? D;

May I present, In the Alley by korbox

The amount of detail in this piece is extraordinary. The water reflections and placement are brilliantly executed, the bricks beautifully textured, the lighting and mood perfect, reminiscent of a 'peaceful' day in the alleys. Who knows what that figure represents? Thief? Orphan? Runaway? Maybe even a figure of authority on the run. The president? Police? Who knows. In the alley-way, you are no-one D:

Adopted Sun in the Winter Storm

Finally, some sun shows up to greet the winter-laden Melbourne!
Without further ado, let me introduce Waterfall Castle Matte art by fstarno

The amount of detail in this piece is breath-taking, not to mention the concept of the image itself, having a castle in such a precarious place. Someone is that castle would be provided with an excellent view XD The lighting and environment casts a sort of majestic feeling, the shadows of the bridge on the water precise, the tones of the sky perfect.

Browsing other peoples works is such a good motivator for one to strive for perfection.

In other news...there is no other news!

Until next time!

Mad-Eye Moony

There was a full moon out last night, in all its glory. Taking a stroll at night as I always do, you could see the clouds around it whizzing about, a faint circular rainbow visible around the moon, the stars scattered like...yea, ok, forget that, I'm bad at this XD
The moon is such a beautiful companion. Dim enough to get your rest at night, but bright enough for navigation.

No, the moon does not speak, sorry.

In Confessions to the Moon by leocervas, the moon steals the centre of attention for itself, in all its cratered glory. The colours in the piece are brilliant, although, to me, the lighting on the eagle, rabbit and dog look a bit off. I'd love to sit on a swing at night ^_^

Would you?

Wealthy Writings

So, today, I hopped off to the State Library of Victoria for some business and such (If you live in Victoria, definitely go check it out). Libraries are wonderful places. I would love to have a little library in my house. A place where I could curl up by the fire late at night at the peak of winter, with some biscuits (nom) at hand and a big book waiting to be munched on. Something like this, no?

Titled Library by daRoz, this cozy place would be a dream come true! The reflections on the floor look absolutely professional, the lighting and atmosphere are brilliant. I love the pattern of the flooring too, the orange and off-white colours, for me, contrast well with the red books on the shelf. The scraps of paper scattered around the floor make it seem like someone got too involved in the intricate mysteries of the world ;D

So yes. Books. Go enjoy them! If you are into sci-fi or fantasy, here is a great flowchart that is guaranteed to find the perfect book for you!

Reign of Rain

When it rains in Melbourne, it really does rain! I love rain! Nothing better than a good run through the rain. So refreshing.

So let us begin today with Drifted by korbox

The mood and lighting in this image is perfect. I really wish I could do stuff like that, the lighting is just aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! That soft mist, brilliant. I love the colours used in the image, especially those of the bright street lights that contrast well with the more morbid blue-grey of the background. The rain is perfect, almost as if korbox used a mathematical formula to direct its placement :D The city in the background is also gorgeous.

That is like the worst appraisal of art ever. Ever.

Definitely go check out his deviantART page, he has some amazing works. Some of them will definitely be popping up here from time to time

Until next time!

Inoculation

Greetings!

So, one day, I was making my way through deviantART, browsing through the archives of talent, oh how lovely they are.
I picked out two works, and sent them to a friend who I thought had no interest whatsoever. How wrong I was! That friend said they were beautiful!

So I thought..."Look, there's plenty of amazing pieces of work on this site...and more people should appreciate them...why can't I make a random blog that can show off one of these pieces daily?"

And that is how this blog began.

I myself am a beginner of an artist; maybe 3-4 years of basic Photoshop experience. Nothing special. I draw inspiration from friends, from other professional artists, and from nature.

So...the purpose of this humble blog shall be to expose some of those wonderful works of art that exist over the Internet. Maybe through in a random inspirational quote or a bit of life-story on an odd day.

The first piece on this blog shall actually be one of my own. I mean, I need to start with low quality pieces first right? Else, the high-skill pieces cannot be properly appreciated.

May I present my very own, Vengeance of the Octopi

What is going on in this image? I have no idea. Some undergraduate mathematics student probably made the mistake of dividing Pi by zero, dooming all of humanity to death by Pi!

(Not a very humble start to a humble blog, is it? :P )

Until next time!
